Recent news

Neil Thompson's paper to the STAREast May 2003 conference in Orlando, Florida  ("Best Practices" and "Context-Driven": Building a Bridge") was featured in November 2003's StickyLetter from SQE in the USA. Meanwhile, he has been developing further examples of the use of the meta-method and has discussed early drafts of these with James Bach.

Only British attender of the 2003 Software Test Managers' Roundtable (STMR) in USA, hosted by Cem Kaner.

Has been a significant contributor to all four of the UK Software Testing Retreats held so far (June 2002, February 2003, November 2003 & June 2004).

Neil is also a regular at Systeme Evolutif's Test Management Forum and Electromind's Testing Master Class events.

During 2004, assignments included:

Presented "Tips for testers" at the autumn 2004 meeting of the British Computer Society's Specialist Interest Group in Software Testing (SIGiST), and contributed to (from the floor) a lively and interesting CMSG meeting on "Configuration management: agile versus traditional".

Current activities

Recently joined both the Foundation & Advanced review panels for the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB).

Neil recently started (Oct 2004) a new consultancy assignment in a prominent financial services organisation, in parallel with co-delivering tailored training courses for Electromind to specific clients.
